"Historic Greenwich Village Italian eatery/pastry spot gets a revamp, with one of the best new craft cocktail bars in the city."

The World's 50 Best Bars
@theworldsbestbars
"A century-old Italian café and something of an institution of the Greenwich Village locale, Dante reopened in 2015 under the modernising influence of Australians Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson. While the fundamentals remained, in came new food, world-class cocktails, a fresh crowd and a new lease of life. Open all day, the bar hooks you in with varied and delicious bait – a coffee in the morning, perhaps some lunchtime pasta and not long after a never-too-early aperitivo. The list of Negronis is renowned and growing: the Café Negroni, with rum, marsala and coffee liqueur being the latest spin on the classic; while the Garibaldi, with Campari and ‘fluffy’ orange juice, remains one of the best renditions around. But under the liquid leadership of Eloy Pacheco and ex-Coupette man Chris Moore, there has been a narrowing in on Martinis (try the Vesper-esque Dante Martini) and Spritzes, among which is the zesty Seville Spritz, topped with Prosecco. As all classic venues, Dante moves forward, never forgetting its past."

"Dante boasts two locations — Dante West Village and Caffe Dante, the two bars are located a few blocks apart. I haven’t had luck getting into Caffe Dante without a reservation, so I suggest booking in advance. Try to book Friday evening during the spring and summer because they usually have a pleasant live jazz band."

"Google has it as a restaurant for some reason, but I only know it for drinks. It's one of those super cool NYC places which is like a coffee shop, restaurant and bar all in one. A bit like a tabac in France (joking). Such a cool bar and a wicked neighbourhood! If you like cocktails their Old Fashioned is the best I've ever tasted."

"Negroni Bianca is amazing. 2019 best cocktail in the world. Branzino and filet were 9.5 out of 10. Prosciutto was thick - something new and wonderful. Pass on focaccia. Bar seats all opened up at 7:45 and 8 pm on a Thursday. Pannacotta with fruit and balsamic was to die for. "
@moprimiano
"Worlds best bar 2019. 30th in 2021. Amazing selection of Negronis. Gave me a Manhattan with a side car (2 for price of 1). focaccia had no hints of olive oil and was toasted, but house made ricotta was excellent. Side of green beans shown as you ate down and after squeezing lemon juice on them; the Pancetta in there with olive oil, butter, and garlic was perfection. Had pasta with wild boar. Pasta itself was slightly too Al dente, but sauce was 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼. Then cheesecake. Omg the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. "
